Spire Client Entertainment Night May 2013

Spire Singapore hosted the Client Entertainment Night once again, where our clients and business partners joined us for a dinner reception followed by the movie screening of “The Great Gatsby”. The event was held at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard. It was an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down after a day at work.

An adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel by the same title, a stellar cast took our guests back to early 20th century America. The audience was intrigued by the lavish lifestyle and murky past of Jay Gatsby (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), and how Daisy Buchanan (played by Carey Mulligan) led him into a downward spiral of obsession and tragedy.

The entertaining and thought-provoking drama made for an enjoyable evening.

Spire’s breakfast seminar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: “Myanmar – Seizing the Opportunities Amidst the Pitfalls”

Following the success of previous breakfast seminars “Myanmar – Seizing the Opportunities Amidst the Pitfalls” held in Singapore, Spire Research and Consulting brought this engaging topic to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Poised to be Asia’s next investment hotspot, many of Spire’s clients are particularly interested in investing in Myanmar. Through this seminar, Spire hoped to provide the participants an insight into current business conditions in Myanmar, share the underlying opportunities and risks in the business climate, as well as define sound business strategies for companies seeking export or investment opportunities.

In his opening address at the seminar, Jeffrey Bahar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Spire Research and Consulting, gave a broad overview of Myanmar as a market and investment destination. He highlighted the underlying opportunities and risks that stemmed from the rapid growth and opening up of the country. Keynote speaker Genevieve Koh, Assistant Manager, Client Service of Spire Research and Consulting shared her insights on the current business conditions and the appropriate business strategies for companies seeking export or investment opportunities in Myanmar.

The session was followed by a highly interactive panel discussion, where the participants raised questions from the floor and interacted with both speakers.
