Spire DCEO on SEA market’s perception of food and nutrition
Spire DCEO, Japnit Singh, spoke at the recent U.S. Dairy Export Council Singapore’s (USDEC) webinar on the smart choice for nutrition and innovation, discussing protein consumption habits.
In September 2020, USDEC organised a 2-part webinar on nutrition and food innovation for food and beverage manufacturers in Southeast Asia (SEA).
Japnit and Health and Wellness Editor Sharon Gerdes presented at the first webinar. Sharon explained the different types of proteins and talked about the varying dietary protein needs of the age groups.
Japnit shared insights on SEA market’s perception of food, in particular health food and proteins. He also talked about 4 educational gaps that needs to be addressed, one of which is consumers’ confusion on the correct amount of protein to consume. He further highlighted the market potential for protein-rich products as study revealed that 80% of consumers believe that such food is essential for heathy ageing.
