Skincare industry grows amidst pandemic in Indonesia

Skincare industry in Indonesia continues to grow despite the pandemic. Spire Consultant Sekarina Widyasmi shares the reasons for it with TechnoBusiness.
Although the lockdowns and restrictions imposed due to the pandemic caused the economic slowdown, the skincare industry in Indonesia showed a growth of 0.48% in 2020 with a forecast to grow by 7.6% in 2021.
While trying to adapt to a new lifestyle, self-care became a priority for many Indonesians. The market consumed more skincare, instead of beauty, products during this period.
With increasing demands, several multination brands expanded their business in Indonesia. An example is Boots, British beauty and skincare company which opened a 100 square meters outlet in Senayan City.
