Business opportunities in Singapore’s sunshine plan
How can local SMEs leverage on Singapore’s adoption of clean energy solutions? Leon Perera, Chief Executive Officer of Spire Research and Consulting, shared his thoughts in The Business Times – Singapore.
Singapore plans to use solar energy to fulfil about 2% of its electricity needs by 2025.
Leon comments that there are opportunities for local SMEs to leverage local know-how, operational efficiency and workflow innovation, particularly in the installation and maintenance field.
Aside from the environmental benefits, solar presents an enormous opportunity for business. While the market may be dominated by big manufacturers, there are opportunities for more nimble players in areas such as system installation and maintenance, system design and R&D to unlock new innovations in solar power.
