Malaysia’s Movement Control Order (MCO) measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 caused a substantial loss of income for the franchise industry. However, the country also recorded a 28.9% jump in online sales during this period, as it becomes the ideal alternative for consumers.
This prompted Malaysia Franchise Association’s (MFA) collaboration with Shopee, an online shopping platform. MFA aims to bring digital solutions to the country’s franchise industry as well as promote the products of local franchises to overseas market such as Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines and Thailand, through the partnership.
