Asia-Pacific ripe for silver market opportunities
The rapid aging of Asia’s population spells opportunity for marketers. Leon Perera, Chief Executive Officer of Spire Research and Consulting, shared his insights on challenges and opportunities in the Silver Industry space in an article in Asia Advisers Network.
Leon pointed out that the South Korean government continues to expand long-term care infrastructure in the form of integrated retirement communities catering for older residents as well as visitors of all ages. Korea has the lowest fertility rate of 0.98 worldwide and is the third largest nursing care market.
Leon further highlighted that the ASEAN countries and India are the next emerging silver markets to explore. The Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) introduced in 2008 by the South Korean government is a benchmark which other countries may increasing consider to stimulate the growth of the elder-care sector.
