Valued at US$15 million in 2019, the global Near Field Communication (NFC) market size is projected to grow 14% a year between 2021 and 2028 to reach US$54 million by 2028.

Like Bluetooth, NFC is an innovative wireless technology that enables data exchanges between compatible devices. However, NFC’s transmission over shorter distance enables a stronger connection with little or no interference.

Although initially used mainly for contactless payment applications, the NFC technology has been adopted by the healthcare sector. NFC is used to keep track of patients’ medical records through tags and applications. The technology also has the potential to improve security, homecare and medication delivery.

How can healthcare businesses and organizations benefit from adopting NFC technology?
