Xiamen: The new business destination for Taiwanese companies

Taiwanese companies have embraced Xiamen as the new destination to expand their businesses.

Companies engaged in sectors such as biomedicine, photo electricity, new materials, service outsourcing and software have set up their operations in the region and grown manifold.”

Xiamen has become a key destination in the greater western Taiwan Straits Zone. According to the figures of the Information Department of Xiamen Municipal Government, the paid-in investment from Taiwan hit USD430 million, a 6.1-percent year-on-year increase.”

In 2011, as many as 154 Taiwanese companies set up their offices in Xiamen. Furthermore, the number of companies planning to shift operations in the region has also been increasing.
