USD8.2 billion and counting: Value of Chinese counterfeits in Europe

According to the latest UN Data, USD8.2 billion worth of counterfeit products are “exported” from China annually, and the trend continues to increase. The products were shipped to Europe from every direction along with a few major land routes through the Middle East and Asia.

Firms facing counterfeit products have to deal with myriad of issues. On one hand, they suffer a blow on profits as they lose the market share to counterfeit products. They also risk losing consumers’ confidence, as counterfeit products break down easily and may cast a bad image on the products from the genuine company.”
