India’s path to digital empowerment

The Digital India initiative aims to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy and is expected to boost the country’s digital economy to US$ 1 trillion by 2025.
Under the initiative, the Digital India Week was inaugurated in July 2022. New initiatives released during the week focused on helping businesses, startups, and individual innovators digitalise. For example, Digital India Gen-Next Support for Innovation Startups (GENESIS) helps startups succeed in the small towns of India. Digital India Bhashini is a translation platform that makes AI and Natural Language Processing resources available to businesses of all sizes.
However, the lack of infrastructure in India leads to problems like slower Internet speeds. Digital illiteracy and a lack of user education also make it a struggle for businesses to adapt, especially in small and medium industries.
How can India boost its people’s digital literacy?
