Increase digital literacy to arm against cyber-attacks

January 28, 2024 – It is clear that the Internet has become integral to our daily lives, with daily Average Screen Time reaching 6 hours and 58 minutes. As almost all aspects of our lives go digital, our sensitive data is at risk of exposure.

Cybercrime, for example, is estimated to cost US$7.08 trillion in 2022, with more than half of the damage done by phishing scams. We all need to increase our digital literacy, to understand how data can be breached and arm ourselves against cyber-attacks. Let us be aware of everything we type and record in our devices and be responsible and wise when sharing our personal data online.
