ICT Channels prepare for post-Covid challenges

Spire DCEO, Japnit Singh, shared insights on the trends that would continue post-Covid, and the changes ICT channels could encounter, at this week’s GATES Virtual Summit.

At the recent event, information and communications technology (ICT) experts discussed the outlook of the industry in the post-Covid era. There was general agreement that work flow and trends may swing back to pre-Covid ways in the immediate post-Covid phase. However, it was unanimously agreed that eventually a hybrid model will emerge.

Demand for ICT products grew during the pandemic lockdown. Cloud computing gained importance, as did the issue of connectivity and bandwidth. Japnit emphasised that it is important to understand the best ways to use, manage and store data.

The discussion also focused on how businesses should go forward. Japnit agreed with the panel that the pandemic has moved businesses to become more people focused, on both customers and staff. With the hybrid model of home office and business office, companies need to be flexible and also need to have the facilities and infrastructure that allow their staff to work optimally in the post-Covid era.
