Diabetes – an avoidable economic burden


Nov 14, 2022 – The increasing prevalence of diabetes in lower- and middle-income countries is an avoidable economic and social burden that requires our immediate attention. Governments and the private sector in Asia can leverage learnings from the last two years to activate a collaborative and comprehensive response. Intervention models built on principles of universal access, awareness and engagement, and continuous patient management are most likely to achieve the desired impact of well-being and healthy lives.
