Dr You-il Lee

Dr You-il Lee is the Director of the Master of International Business Program (MIB) at the International Graduate School of Business, University of South Australia.

Dr Lee’s original research is published in a wide variety of academic journals, including Management Decision, Journal of Contemporary Asia, Asia Pacific Business Review, Far Eastern Economic Review, Asian Perspective, Asian Academy of Management Journal and Journal of Australian Studies.

Prior to taking up his present position, Dr Lee was a Senior Lecturer and the course coordinator of International Business at the School of Management, Edith Cowan University, and a research fellow at the Curtin Business School. He has been involved in teaching and research on a wide range of issues regarding international business and the political economy of the Northeast and Southeast Asian region.

Dr Lee has served as President of the Western Australia Korean Chamber of Commerce (2002-2006) and has held visiting appointments at Graduate School of International Studies, Chung-Ang University, Korea and Korea-Trade Investment Promotion Agency. Dr Lee has had considerable experience in advising companies and government departments on a range of matters. He has met with over 150 CEOs of multinational corporations over the years.

Dr Lee’s current research and teaching focus on managing cultural challenges within an international context, political dynamics of globalization and the political economy of capital flows in the Asia-Pacific region.

He is currently based in Australia.
